A short story by me
Synopsis:
the story starts with two boys, A and B, who have been the best friends for the last 18 years. they lived in the same town, went to the same school and attended the same college. Whats amazing is that their choices, preferences and taste also resemble stunningly.
A and B have grown u together, they know each other more than their parents know them. its the type of situation in which you can never surprise the other person because the other already knows what you are up to.
A and B passed out their colleges with a good percentage- applied for Columbia and Brown. they both got admissions in both the universities and were now left with a choice. Either both can go to Columbia or to brown, but the tussle started very soon. A wanted to go to Columbia because Columbia offered specialization in a field A wanted to explore and B wanted to go to Brown because he was getting the courses of his interest in Brown. They both ended up in a hard talk and after 18 years of "example-setting" friendship, they moved on the paths to different destinations.
Due to this gap that they made between them, their friendship started to drift apart. two friends who used to spend minutes by talking to each other, now, didn't talk to each other for days. and the interval kept on stretching; days became weeks and weeks became months.
Few months later they made a plan to meet up, they had been making plans like these for the past 2 months but the same happened this time too. B canceled the plan on the 11th hour. One day their long lost friend C, called up A as he was keeping a track on the two. He knew how much the bond of their friendship had weaken over time. He called up A and decided to meet up.After refusing, A finally got convinced to meet C with a couple of their mutual friends. They met the very next day at a bar where C introduced A to a beautiful young girl E who turned out to be his classmate who he left out un-noticed as he was all the time busy with his own stuff. Few meetings and bumping a bit frequently into each other, turned out to be something they never expected - they fell in love . He forgot all his frustrations and betrayed
The same happened with B aswell in the same manner . He too met a girl D from his University, they too started going out and got married, and in the meantime A too got married with E the girl from his university.
An year later B and D started having complications in their marriage and out of frustration D start seeing a new guy F , F was rich and greedy person and all his property was mortgaged to the bank because he once lost heavily in poker he hid this secret from D and started meeting her in his personal Suite , One night when he was at his place he was so drunk and broken he spoke about all his grievances; how he lost everything in gambling. When she heard him uttering these words she felt broken and mended at the same time she felt in urge that she made a wrong decision by marrying B, she felt that she needed other words,next day when she came home early in the morning , B was waiting for her sitting on a rocking chair in his night gown reading newspaper smoking a cigar, D tried to move into her room quietly but anyhow he noticed her and started an argument out of nowhere she got so frustrated and felt the desperation for if , that she slammed the door and started crying , few hours later a snail mail arrived. Wipping her tear off she opened the letter. she found a renewal of her husbands life insurance plan in it. her face lit up and there was an evil smirk. She got so eager and keen that she went upto F and told him that if her husband dies she could inherit his fortune and live the rest of her life in great pleasure with F. Then she thought of murdering B and F supported her on that. One night she cooked him a good delicious meal; a medium rare beef steak and french red wine, approximately 64 years old. Husband gets curious on wife being so kind-little did he know that she had drugged the food. As he dozed off, she called F up F as she wanted his help to murder her husband.
F entered the room, all dark, not a single light. It scared him down to the spine, a touch on his back. He got frightened and turned around and she was there. They both took him to the bed room and created an environment which gave an impression that he got over drunk and died. She went to the bar and talked to the manager there, and asked for a drink that was not available. then she went back home and called the cops. When the cops arrived, they started investigating about the murder; it soon turned out to be a natural death because the manager at the bar was an eye witness that the wife was at the bar at the time of the death of her husband. After the body was released from the forensic lab, the insurance company was ready to name the beneficent on the day of the funeral. Living his life perfectly, A gets to know about the death of his friend. He canceled all of his plans, picked up his wife and came to the funeral. While he was on the way, the insurance company officer arrived at the place of B to read out the will. The will said that the beneficiary of the fortune is the person who was loved most by the deceased. D gave an evil smile to her self waiting for her life to take a turn to luxury and freedom. At this time, A entrees the room with his wife. The will further read that B loved A the most so all the wealth is now the rightful property of A. D is more shocked to see A. she goes up ti him and says that you are F. A is all shocked, A's wife is about to bitch slap D. D creates a chaos at the funeral claiming that A is F. A tries his best to convince her but she tells A to take a line test. h takes a line test and passes with flying colors. D gets in such a shock that she breaks and knowing that she is pregnant, now she has no clue of where F is. she tries to approach him in his suite but he already checked out a week back. Knowing this she gets a shock so severe that she gets admitted to a mental asylum.
After inheriting a fortune A lives his life like he used to but in the middle of the night he used to wake up and go some where. His wife got suspicious and followed him and heard him speaking to someone. She open the door silently and sees her husband laughing at the mirror and speaking to his own reflection that how they fooled the world, earned a fortune and no one ever noticed. then his wife got to know that she has to spend her whole life with a patient with a case of split personality or MULTIPLE PERSONALTY DISORDER.
